PM Modi Poland Visit Live: Prime Minister Narendra Modi touched down in Poland on Wednesday, commencing his two-nation tour during which he will also travel to the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. During his visit to Ukraine, Modi is set to engage with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, exchanging views on finding a peaceful solution to the ongoing conflict in the country.
Modi's trip to Poland marks a significant milestone, as it is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the nation in nearly half a century. Throughout his stay in Poland, the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold meetings with President Andrzej Sebastian Duda and conduct bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Donald Tusk, aiming to strengthen the ties between the two countries.
European Parliament member Dariusz Jonski highlighted the importance of this visit for both political and business relations. He noted Poland's keen interest in discussing healthcare, where the country urgently needs 25,000 doctors and specialists, as well as opportunities for collaboration in the IT sector with Indian companies. Jonski emphasized that PM Modi's visit would strengthen the bilateral ties between the two nations.
The Indian community in Poland, especially in Lodz, has expressed great enthusiasm for the visit. Many praised PM Modi for his leadership, particularly during the 2022 conflict in Ukraine, when India successfully evacuated its citizens through Poland.
MEA Secretary (West) Tanmaya Lal described the visit as "historic," underscoring the longstanding relationship between the two countries. During his stay, PM Modi will meet with Poland's leadership, interact with the Indian community, and receive a ceremonial welcome in Warsaw before proceeding to Ukraine.
